Frequently Asked

The opening of Chapter I is invite-only. Entry is by invitation and will not be available at the door. To request an invitation, submit an inquiry through this page. Priority is given to registered collectors, institutional partners, and guests referred directly by the gallery.

The exhibition works will not be shown publicly prior to the opening. However, serious collectors and institutional partners may request a private preview appointment before June 3. Private previews are limited, handled directly, and arranged at the curator's discretion. Submit your inquiry and indicate your interest in a pre-opening appointment.

Select works from Chapter I are available for private acquisition. Africa Curated owns the works in its collection outright - there are no consignment arrangements, and placement decisions are made with care. Pricing, availability, and placement details are discussed during the private viewing process. All acquisitions are handled directly through the gallery.

Private viewing dinners are an intimate format Africa Curated uses in select cities - either as an extension of the exhibition viewing or as a standalone gathering without a public program. The format is determined by the collector relationships in each market. In either case, the dinner is designed to be where the relationship between collector and program is built - through sustained conversation about the work, the artists, and the ideas the chapter puts into the room. Upcoming private viewing dinners will be announced to the collector mailing list first.

Chapter I opens in Los Angeles on June 3, 2026, and travels to New York, Atlanta, Houston, and Dallas. The curatorial framework, works, and exhibition documentation travel with the chapter. The format is consistent across cities - invite-only, curator-led, limited attendance. Registered collectors receive advance notice of each city before public announcement, and first right of inquiry on available works.

Every acquired work comes with a professional condition report, full provenance documentation, exhibition history, artist biography, and installation guidelines. Africa Curated maintains institutional-grade standards for all documentation - the same standards expected by museums and serious private collections. Documentation is prepared and provided at the point of acquisition, not after.

Africa Curated treats placement as part of the curatorial act. The relationship does not end at the point of sale. Professional crating, transportation, and installation guidance are provided. The gallery maintains an active interest in how acquired works are held and displayed, and remains available for questions about the work's context and care. Collectors who acquire in early chapters are kept informed of the program's development as it travels.

Yes. Africa Curated arranges professional crating and international shipping for all acquired works through certified fine art handlers. Works are insured from the moment they leave the gallery's care. Full condition documentation is provided before and after transit.

Yes. Africa Curated is actively seeking institutional relationships - as a venue partner, co-presenting institution, loan partner, or collecting partner. Africa Curated owns its works outright, which makes loan agreements and institutional acquisitions operationally straightforward. Submit an inquiry specifying your institution and the nature of the proposed collaboration. The gallery's co-founders respond directly to all institutional inquiries.
